The Truth About Sports Bras
July 15, 2020
I like to keep my exercise routine fresh. Currently my routine includes walking 2-4 miles three times a week and weight lifting three times a week. In an effort to clean out some drawers this past week I realized I am the proud owner of 25 sports bras! I mean, I like to exercise but I also try to keep up on my laundry so I have no need for that many! My goal last night was to consolidate and just keep my favorites in rotation. The bras I have linked are my tried and true favorites for a variety of price points.
- Oiselle Hi Twenty Bra ($52): Oiselle is a high end running brand, and their bras are a higher price point for good reason. Excellent stretch and compression, very soft fabric. Pattern is the classic Oiselle flying birds and comes in several colors.
- Old Navy Medium Support Powersoft Adjustable-Strap Sports Bra ($29.99): This is a solid no-frills sports bra. I like the adjustable strap feature for a more custom fit/lift.
- Target Women’s Medium Support Bonded Racerback Bra – All in Motionâ„¢ ($20): Target has really stepped up their active wear game in the past few years, and that includes several new sports bras. This one is a regular in my weekly rotation. It has a higher arm hole and bonded, smooth edges.
- Target Women’s High Support Bonded Bra – All in Motionâ„¢ ($30): I love the adjustable hook and eye band strap for a more custom fit. This bra can definitely withstand running and jumping, and the smooth bonded edge doesn’t chafe.
- Athleta Conscious Crop ($59): This is a popular crop with buttery soft fabric, beautiful colors and patterns, and good support. I have a long torso so I don’t consider this crop length, but rather just a longer line bra.
- Lululemon Energy Bra High Neck Long Line Rib Medium Support B-D ($68): I’ve really been feeling this high neck, long line bras this summer. I was drawn to the beautiful red color of this bra, and the cute strappy detailing in back. Premium fabric, but you are also paying for the name brand.
